Oligarchy, government by the few, especially despotic power exercised by a small and privileged group for corrupt or selfish purposes. Oligarchies in which members of the ruling group are wealthy or exercise their power through their wealth are known as plutocracies. Aristotle used the term oligarchia to designate the rule of the few when it was exercised not by the best but by bad persons unjustly. In this sense, oligarchy is a debased form of aristocracy, which denotes government by the few in which power is vested in the best individuals. Most classic oligarchies have resulted when governing elites were recruited exclusively from a ruling casteāa hereditary social grouping that is set apart from the rest of society by religion, kinship, economic status, prestige, or even language. Such elites tend to exercise power in the interests of their own class.(Courtesy:britannica.com)
Could you look at the above gray background definition of Oligarchy?Does it match Nepal's government structure? How only particular five Oligarchs become Nepal's prime minister no matter what. In this case, we are talking about Mr. Khadga Prasad Oli(aka K P Oli), Mr. Sher Bahadur Deuba, Mr. Puspa Kamal Dahal(aka Prachanda), Mr. Madhab Nepal, Mr. Bamdev Gautam. Are there other capable people for candidacy for Prime minister post? Of course, there are, but the oligarchy system never let the chance to become even a candidate for Prime minister. How Nepal's (so-called) democratic system became an absolute oligarchy gradually within three decades.
To end this political equational oligarchy system. We must have an electoral or directly nationally elected President who will have executive privilege and power. For that reason. We must amend the constitution of Nepal. Currently, in Nepal, no political party can gain two third of the vote. And it seems that going to have for a long time. We believe every second counts to develop Nepal. Now Nepalese people neither can let it happen nor can wait for development. We will not waste any second in the name of a Prime minister and ceremonial President. Parliament just inquires about Nepalese problems writes bill and makes laws(which is a legislative branch), not rules the whole nation. For instance, lets talk about Mr Deepak Manange. He is believed to elected by least vote. But Nepal's constitution allow him to become a prime minister of Nepal. If he able to gain majority in parliament. That mean majority peoples's voice and choice being ignored. That is why we believe current contitution has flaws and it is against Nepalese people will.
